Online I see extreme measures taken to keep cats from Christmas trees. But in our house we believe the tree is for the cats. You may visibly tie it off to keep it from falling, you may put special dangly ornaments down low, you may position it for maximum cat entertainment and human enjoyment of cat antics.

Oh, also we have a felted ornament of our first cat, Whopper, a tuxedo, that goes deep in the tree, where he liked to be when he was with us. He was a very good kitty.
